Memorial Day and Island Park

It has been a little while since we have last posted something. Julie and I have had a lot of things go on in our lives since then. One of these things we all had happen was Memorial Day. This was a great day because Julie and I were able to spend a full day together ( and it wasn't a weekend). I loved it because it was a great bonus to the holiday. We spent the morning going to some graves and paying our respects to those who lie there. After paying our respects we went to a luncheon put on by the Mechams. There were so many people there. It was a lot of fun. Because of the rain the luncheon wasn't able to be held outside so all 100 + people filled Sherm and June Mecham's house and garage. This was wall to wall people. We had great food and even some entertainment. It was a lot of fun. Here is a video of the entertainment.

After the luncheon we went to my parents house and played games and enjoyed the evening.

I am lucky because I never have to work on Fridays. Now that school is over I get my Fridays all to myself. This is very exciting. Julie and I now travel to her school on Fridays because Julie is still going to school. I go so that I can be with her for a longer part of the day but also I get the full access that BYU-I has to genealogy websites and tools. This has been so much fun. I have been able to make some progress in my ancestors and we are working on starting some for Julie's ancestors. This has been such a good experience and it is always so exciting. Julie has even started to enjoy family history work. I get to go tomorrow so it will be a good day.

This last weekend Julie and I were able to have the opportunity to go to Island Park with my family. My family has never rented a cabin and had a family outing in Island Park even though we don't live to far from it. This last weekend we had the fun chance to do this. After school on Friday, Julie and I left Rexburg to go to Island Park. It was so much fun. We drove through a big rain and hail storm on our way through the mountains but when we reached the cabin that we were going to be staying in the sky was clear. We stayed at the cabin Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday morning. Everyday we were there it snowed at least a little. Julie was sad to know that there was a hot tub but she couldn't use it because she has been told not to use them while pregnant. I was able to start a fire outside on Saturday so we cooked smores and starbursts. It was a fun time. Julie and I took many games on the trip so we were never bored with nothing to do. I played a game of risk for the first time in probably 10 years this last weekend and came in second. This kind of trip we would like to take again.

Julie went to the doctor today and found that the baby is doing really well. The doctor told her that the baby is growing nicely and that it was easier to hear the heart beat. We thought this was really exciting.
